Alumnae

  • AlumnaeHugs

Joining an alumnae group is one way that a Gamma Phi Beta sister may stay involved long after her collegiate years end. The three active Iowa Alumnae Chapters include the Cedar Rapids Alumnae Chapter, Central Iowa Alumnae Chapter and Quad Cities Alumnae Chapter.

Here at Omega Chapter, we are excited to have such helpful Gamma Phi Beta alumnae; they spend time with our seniors each spring during our annual alumnae wine tasting and each Nov. 11, they celebrate Founders Day with us. We thank them with our annual Carnation Blitz during which our actives deliver pink carnations to area alumnae. Our alumnae also write recruitment recommendations for potential members, and contribute to our local newsletter and The Crescent (an international publication to keep us all in contact with each other).

On the collegiate level here at ISU, our alumnae actively oversee our chapter activities by volunteering as members as our Advisory Board or House Corporation Board. We enjoy sharing their ideas and appreciate their direction.

Support the Collegiate Housing & Infrastructure Act

The Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act would allow tax-deductible charitable contributions given to educational foundations (such as the national educational foundations for fraternities and sororities) to be used to make improvements to housing owned and operated for the benefit of college students. This bill would make it substantially easier for Greeks nationwide to raise the money needed to install critical life-safety improvements in our chapter housing, expand housing capacity, and otherwise modernize the housing we provide to our student members.
